Culinary Treasures: Michelin Guide Recognizes 15 of Asheville’s Beloved Restaurants

Nestled in Montford’s historic and charming neighborhood, our Asheville bed and breakfast sits at the epicenter as a beloved getaway for visitors far and wide looking for both a place to rest and rejuvenate and also to experience the beauty and uniqueness of Asheville.

In our little city, we have incredible mountain trails and views to explore, local artists’ work to browse, and a piece of history to be a part of. But we also have something else that’s special — a culinary mecca with flavors from across the globe.

Many of our local restaurants have just been recognized in the recent unveiling of the first Michelin Guide American South! So whether you’re looking to visit for the views or the eats, your stay here at 1900 Inn on Montford puts you just a hop, skip, and a jump from some of Asheville’s best and most scrumptious culinary gems.

The prestigious Michelin Guide highlighted 15 Asheville restaurants for their excellence across hospitality tiers (food, experience, etc.)

Among the standouts is one of our favorites, Luminosa, which earned a MICHELIN Green Star for sustainability, a nod to its commitment to local Appalachian sourcing, zero-waste practices, and intentional dining experience. Luminosa also received a Bib Gourmand award which is an accolade that goes to restaurants offering excellent food at an accessible price point. Luminosa isn’t the only one to be recognized for this either. Little Chango (famed for its creative arepas), and Mother (known for its delicious homemade bread and wine selection) also earned Bib Gourmand honors, which speaks to the heart, value, and quality of these amazing Asheville restaurants.
